Digital Story Narrative #3

Thursday, May 27, 2010 |

My digital story is on the oil spill. This oil spill is very dangerous for the animals that swim freely out in the ocean and then they die because of the oil ships that don't care
about the animals out there. The terrorists can spill the oil out in the ocean so they can get the countries attention. it was the biggest oil spill recorded in history. It is leaking 5,000 barrels a day. its about 5,000 feet below the surface of the water. This is very dangerous for the people that were onboard on this ship because when the spill happened the boat will explode. As the day went on, on the day April 20th, 11 workers were missing and presumed dead. There was a 5,000 foot pipe that was connected to the rig of the wellhead and now it is detached and snaking along the sea floor. One leak was at the end of the riser and the other at a kink closer to is source. Part of the oil slick was only 16 miles offshore and closing in on the Mississippi River Delta, the marshlands at the southeastern tip of Louisiana where the river empties into the ocean. Already 100,000 feet of protective booms have been laid down to protect the shoreline, with 500,000 feet more standing

My dream is to become a fireman. The reason why i want to become a fireman is because i would like to save people and let them live there lives, knowing that we will be there for the. While on duty your either taking a nap or shopping for food to cook. I looked on the computer and looks like they make god money to take care of a family. During your first year on the job you can make at least $34,871 without doing any overtime.  When i was little I always watched TV with my parents and we watched a show called Third Watch. The show was about police officers, firefighters and EMT. They all get calls to save people. I  told my mom i wanted to be just like them when i grow up. When i told my dad that i wanted to be  police officer he said no. I rather you be a fireman. i asked him why? The reason is because when your a cop your always on the streets risking your life and getting shot at. Firefighters get alot better pay then cops and firefighters barley do anything.
